I got to collaborate with Engen on their Spaza campaign. I created an artwork inspired by Engen's sports development initiative. The campaign is currently on going, on social media and the artwork is enrolled across selected Spaza shops in South Africa.My artwork celebrates the amazing work that Engen has done through Knockout Challenge by giving young players an opportunity to taste professional football. The illustration celebrates women in football, giving them the recognition, they deserve. The illustration is a reminder of the great work the women have been doing in football.
I used the collage cut and paste illustration style as it fits theme. It's inspired by the soccer posters & my signature pattern in the background to tie everything together. I wanted to capture the "laduma" moment. The cheering that happens when a team scores a goal.The hands touching the ball show sense of community, since Engen is building communities through all these initiatives. I show the journey of Ekoc and its success by featuring some of the big names they have helped. The cities on the ball host the tournament.
